Bonds are not insurance. They are issued to provide your client with some financial recourse if you don’t finish the job or finish it right. If someone files a claim against your bond, you have to pay the Bond Company back, which is why they are based on credit – it works just like a line of credit.

The CSLB license bond option (not the one for roofing/pool contractors) will take you to a partner site so you can get an instant quote for your bond. While you’re doing that, I can check our other companies as well (if you’ve supplied your SSN).
